PHASE 1: WRITTEN EXAMINATION
All candidates must pass a comprehensive written examination with a score of 90% or higher. The exam consists of 30 randomly selected questions drawn from a pool of FAA-style rotary-wing knowledge questions covering:
- Aerodynamics and rotor physics
- Retreating blade stall and dissymmetry of lift
- Autorotation procedures and emergency protocols
- Ground effect and hover mechanics
- Weight and balance calculations
- Weather interpretation and flight planning
- Aircraft-specific operational limitations
Each question provides immediate feedback. Correct answers are highlighted in green with explanations based on aviation physics. Incorrect answers show the right answer and why.
PASS CRITERIA: 90% (27/30 questions)
PHASE 2: PRACTICAL EVALUATION
Upon passing the written exam, candidates unlock access to the 1-on-1 in-game practical test with a certified instructor.
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT:
- CRASH = FAIL - Any hull contact with terrain or obstacles results in immediate disqualification
- SLOW = FAIL - Candidates must demonstrate combat-ready speed and efficiency
- Precision flying is mandatory
- Follow instructor commands exactly
- Demonstrate proper takeoff, hover, and landing procedures
After submitting the post-exam form, instructors will contact you via Discord to schedule your practical check ride. Be ready. Be precise. Don't crash.
SELECT YOUR EXAMINATION
Choose your aircraft class and begin your written examination. Study the question pool carefully - you'll need deep knowledge of rotary-wing aerodynamics to pass.
NOTE: Little Bird questions focus on light scout/attack operations - agility, speed, and precision maneuvers. Huey questions emphasize heavy transport/utility operations - load calculations, formation flying, and multi-crew coordination.
